Dorky Geeky Nerdy #147 | Name That Superhero Trivia

Can you name the superhero with only their compatriots and villains? That’s the goal of this week’s Name That Superhero Trivia game. I give you three people that are associated with the hero, you just have to name them. Simple format, challenging trivia.

And here’s a reminder that the Dorky Geeky Nerdy Shop is open and ready to drop some show merchandise into your life.

  1. I lost track of my exact score, as I so often have in the past few weeks. (It’s hard to do while caring for a newborn.) In this case, there is a clear pattern:
    – I got every Marvel character
    – I missed the DC characters starting from the middle of the Geeky round.
    – I also got the very last one.

  2. “Superheroes” apply to many places other than comics, but it was clear you were leaning to just the comics and the comic versions.

…which is how I prefer it.

Dorky – 10 right, 10 points – “Kingpin” was a rogue for a different character, and a lot of the rogues get shared between heroes.
Geeky – 8 right, 16 points – A lot of these I got it in one. If I didn’t, it was referencing comics I haven’t read. (Hit monkey? Really?)
Nerdy – 2 right, 6 points – I knew the characters, I didn’t know the villains. I am sufficiently messed with.

      • Yeah, and I acknowledge that –correct answer– has done way more with Kingpin than his originally assigned super hero, but even in the comic, the original goes out of the way to suggest “Kingpin was my villain first, you know!”

Honestly, I was impressed that Brian was able to make sure none of the answers were ambiguous enough to be unclear (though I think “Victor Von Doom” as a substitute answer for Sue Richards should be marked correct.)

  3. Dorky: 10, 10
    Geeky: 7, 14
    Nerdy: 3 , 9
A name shared between two very different characters’ respective supporting casts threw me on that last question. Realized my mistake after.
