Well, I feel seen. Or Targeted.

Dorky – 7 correct, 7 points – Wow, the lack of coffee hit me hard. I completely blanked on the second question.
    Geeky – 6 correct, 12 points –
    Nerdy – 6 correct, 18 points –

This was one of my highest scores this season, I am still embarrassed for my showing.

    • I have an unconventional take on the finale. Maybe it’s my writer brain, but I saw the end coming from the get-go. Like, why else would Ted be spinning this very long yarn about his quest to find their mother if the mother wasn’t there anymore.

As such, it didn’t bother me as much as it did other people.

      •
It was clearly telegraphed from the outset, I agree. That said, they recorded the discussion with the kids back when they started, then the show was a huge hit, so they spun the tale longer and longer, and within the first few seasons, they clearly wrote Ted and Robyn as being wrong for each other and then clearly moved passed that. When the finale came around, they had this pre-recorded ending that didn’t fit, but they decided they were going to go back to it and use it regardless.

Just so I don’t get unreasonably angry with the show I loved for nine season only to get mad after the last few minutes, I have decided to believe that the ending scene has Robyn and Ted talking, Robyn saying she loves him as a friend and that they already tried this, and clearly Ted is just upset about his wife again. He agrees, they hug, have a few beers and talk, and he then just goes home and realizes his kids were idiots and Robyn is just a great friend.
Obviously, this show hit me pretty heavily if I’ve invested this much time into it, and there are many, many things more worthy of my time.

        • There you go. Maybe if I’d been watching the show for nine years, it’d bug me more. I watch shows when they’re done, binging them through.
