I was hoping for more cameos, but then it occurred to me: that’d just be “These are the voyages…” 2.0 (and no one wants that). The various ships making an appearance was cute. Plus Tendi’s “well actually…” for single-nacelle ships was hilarious.
The finale was good. Not the send-off the other series have gotten, but it was solid. Maybe (if Paramount aren’t complete idiots) they can revisit the Cerritos crew ever year or so with a 90-minute movie or something.
It was a great season finale, a decent series finale. I did enjoy where it left things, and I’d love to see this era be explored more. Lower Decks should be just a bit before Picard, but they could pick up in the Enterprise G era, couldn’t they? (We don’t need an Enterprise show, mind you. SNW has that covered.
Also, I love how the California Class is the most customizable ship in Starfleet. It’s the Linux of ships!
Tawny Newsome (Mariner) has said everyone from the cast and crew are eager to return. She even said something to the effect of “we’re like Futurama, coming back every so often”. I would be down for that. Maybe a special every Holiday season or something.
