There’s been a lot of talk on Reddit as to why the first trailer is dropping so late. Some conjecture it’s because Disney has little faith in the project. The other is that Disney wants to focus its marketing. The fact that they dropped it the day after Andor wrapped leads me to believe the latter theory.
Personally, I’m hoping for the best. Riri’s introduction in Wakanda Forever felt shoehorned and rushed.
I’m actually impressed that they’re using The Hood as a major villain.
Wakanda Forever seemed like it was a great script that got derailed by Chadwick Bosman dying and then, worse, studio interference.
They’ve been building The Hood up in comics, so I’m interested in seeing where they go with it, though I think they’d do better using him for a grittier series than I expect Disney+ to do with a show with a kid as the lead character. Maybe build on Elsa Bloodstone or Jack Russel.
