Comments Blaine: Fun fact: Sylvester Stallone was originally meant to star in Beverly Hills Cop, but he wanted it to be more series than Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer did. Stallone left the project and took his ideas to make Cobra, while Eddie Murphy came in on BHC and leaned more heavily into the comedy than Stallone wanted to.

Comments Blaine: We don’t generally cover pornographic titles, but the “nudie-cutie” genre was a short lived oddity of movies with nudity but not eroticism. Kino-Lorber is a reputable company who will likely handle this release well. Includes Mr. Peters’ Pets, Everybody Loves It, and 50,000 B.C..

Finally, the picks of the week. Alex says, “The Killer is one of John Woo’s greatest films, so if you’re cutting back on your physical media footprint, the digital version is worth picking up. Otherwise, I’d recommend Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings In Russian as a nice cute rom-com anime.” Blaine says, “I have to go with Serenity, even if that conclusion to Firefly is about six seasons shorter than it should have been.”

  1. Serenity’s… twenty?

    –Looks down at Firefly shirt—

“Inara!!! Come here, I need to go shake a fist at some clouds. Come help your dad to get up from the chair…”

    • Hah. This reminds me of the people who named their daughter Delenn… which now reminds me that in the grand scheme of things, _Babylon 5_ and _Firefly_ aired _really close_ to each other.
