Invasion Discussion: “The Last Wave Goodbye” (Series Finale)

In the middle of the hurricane chaos, Underlay and Russell mount a rescue of the humans who are being round up by the hybrids. Meanwhile, two humans who suspect that Underlay is the cause of the chaos take Larkin, Dave, Jesse and Rose as hostages.

By all reports, this episode marks the end of the series.

    Big ass cliffhanger that we may never see the resolution to.

    Maybe we’ll get lucky and get a quick miniseries this summer to wrap up the story line, but I won’t hold my breath.

    Ah well. We should be used to that feeling of getting hooked into a series and having it axed with little or no resolution. We can call it "Firefly Syndrome" or "Farscape Syndrome" or "John Doe Syndrome" or…

      I vote "Firefly syndrome", since it was probably the most painful and unfair cancellation.

      Perhaps "Fox syndrome" is a runner-up?

        I’d vote for "American Gothic Syndrome" myself, which wasn’t even a Fox series. (In fact, if it were on Fox instead of CBS, it may have lasted longer; it was a big hit among my friends and I in Canada, where a local station used "The X-Files" for a lead-in during its third season.)

        Perhaps we could call it the "Fox or Shaun Cassidy Syndrome."
