Well, I was in before they posted a trailer. They feel like they are rushing get to TOS, but I was happy getting Pike, Una, Pelia…. We have TOS already, let me enjoy my SNW!!
Agreed. I was actually cranky to hear that Thomas Jane is playing Dr. McCoy in the series finale, because Dr. Piper had the job in the second pilot episode.
Then again, I’m also waiting for the story where Scotty’s life energy gets sucked out and put in M’Benga, making Scotty look much older and M’Benga much younger.
I think we’ve all learned that trailers can (and often are) misleading. But we’ll see.
We have so little Star Trek left with the new Paramount regime. I do want to savor it.
We have an average of one episode per month remaining, roughly. 16 of SNW and 10 of SFA for 26 episodes over the next two years.
FYI, that low average is part of the reason Jon and I will be launching the “Star Trek Reading Hour” podcast on September 8. We’re looking at a different Star Trek novel each month, scratching that “new Trek” itch in ways that the Kurtzman Trek just doesn’t do for me. I’ve just started reading Peter David’s fourth New Frontier novel for episode 20 of the podcast.
Nice. It’s been probably a decade or two since I read some Star Trek. I do mostly audiobooks now due to time constraints. They tend to not release on audiobook save for the “big” books.
(Yes, I have volunteered. No, they have not returned my calls)
