There are some interesting titles hitting this Tuesday.

First, the genre releases:

• The 2005 Academy Award Nominated Shorts: includes genre entries such as “The Moon and the Sun: An Imagined Conversation.”
• The Amicus Collection: And Now the Screaming Starts!: A horror collection.
• Animaniacs, Vol. 1: I can’t budget for this right now, but some day I will. It’s an amazing show.
• Arthur C. Clarke: The Man Who Saw The Future: A documentary on the man who had such a huge influence on genre entertainment.
• Choose Your Own Adventure – The Abominable Snowman: I liked the books, but I’m a little concerned by the DVD. I’m sure the quality of the product is on par with the books, and the voice actors are great, but its mere existence screams “Kids aren’t reading!” to me.
• Dark Shadows – Volume 25: And this was a short lived soap opera. No wonder they’re not collected on DVD very often.
• Final Destination 3: The series is now a trilogy. The first wasn’t bad, but I haven’t seen the sequels, so I don’t know if they’ve been maintaining that quality or not.
• Galaxy Angel Z: Complete Collection
• Galaxy High School, Vol. 2: An amusing series.
• Genuine Nerd: I must admit some curiosity about this title.
• Gravion Zwei: Complete Collection
• Invisible Man: Season Two: Based on the H.G. Wells book.
• La Femme Nikita – Complete Fourth Season
• Pinky and the Brain, Vol. 1: A spinoff of Animaniacs.
• The Prisoner – Complete Series Megaset: I’ve heard great things about this title.
• Tales from the Crypt – Complete Fourth Season

Now, the non-genre

releases:

• All Creatures Great and Small – Season Six: An amusing Britcom.
• ‘Allo! ‘Allo! – Complete Series Five: The complete fifth season of another amusing Britcom.
• The Belle of 14th Street: Barbra Streisand’s first television special.
• The Big Sleep: A rerelease of a great flick. Excellent private eye, film noir stuff.
• The Boondocks – The Complete First Season: Based on a comic strip I haven’t read much.
• A Canterbury Tale
• Chappelle’s Show – The Lost Episodes: Finishing that TV series.
• Color Me Barbra: Another TV special.
• Dark Passage: Another entry in the Bogie and Bacall Signature Collection is rereleased today.
• Docurama Awards Collection, Vol. 2
• The Fassbinder Collection 2: Two German films.
• Hudson Hawk (15th Anniversary Edition): This movie bombed almost as badly as the video game based on it.
• JAG – The Complete First Season
• Key Largo: Another Bogie/Bacall combo.
• Miami Vice – Seasons One and Two: Just in time for the movie.
• My Name is Barbra: Another Streisand.
• Punky Brewster – Season Three
• Rawhide – Complete First Season: Clint Eastwood western television.
• Three’s Company: Season Seven
• To Have and Have Not: Another Bogie and Bacall movie.
• The Will-arious Collection : Three Will Ferrell movies.
• Will Rogers Collection, Vol. 1

Finally, the pick of the

week. It was a close call this week, but The Big Sleep gets edged out by Animaniacs Vol. 1.
