Before the Courtney Soloman crap-fest, there was the Dungeons and Dragons Saturday morning cartoon. Admittedly, the show is probably as big a crap-fest as the 2000 movie, but the cartoon is fortified with Nostalgia!
Now we can subject future generations to it on a DVD set coming November 7. Looks like the list price is $49.98
Toon Disney 4 Lyfe
I saw an episode of this on my TV yesterday (got a new hi-def TV, needed to program in all the channels). I can’t find it on their schedule, but I swear I saw it yesterday, as part of ther "Jetix" programming block. I think it was right before an episode of "Power Rangers S.P.D."
Anyway, while this show will be eternally bashed for not using the current 3.5 D&D rules :D it wasn’t bad for its day, and it’s definitely better than the 2000 movie. Then again I’ve seen drunken cam-phone videos that were better than that movie.
typo?
Also, mob, looks like you haywired a link or something, as one of your links in this article points to this article. :) (Not fixing it because I don’t know what it’s supposed to be, if anything.)
Re: typo?
Whoops. Left the HREF blank. Fixed now.
D&D trying to leave the media of its birth
Poor D&D, it seems doomed to tabletop gaming. I get shivers whenever I have the unfortunate occasion to remember that movie. The game sucked in a terrible way (MMORPG). I never saw that cartoon, but if the trend carries, it had to be terrible too.
Re: D&D trying to leave the media of its birth
I wouldn’t go that far. Both Baldur’s Gate games as well as Neverwinter Nights kicked some serious @$$.
