At about 6:15 am (local time), a huge fireball sprayed across the sky here in Denver. One of local station’s traffic copter caught it live. Don’t bother with the sound, the commentary is truly inane.

Correction: It’s was a rocket
That’ll teach me for believing a Fox affiliate. According to NORAD, the fireworks were pieces of Russian rocket re-entering the atmosphere.

Stupid supertags. Here’s the link
Re: Correction: It’s was a rocket
Well, so much for Denver being plagued with meteor freaks.
Re: Correction: It was a rocket
That would Boulder, actually.
Re: Correction: It was a rocket
They don’t need meteors to be called freaks! In the mean time, can someone ship us some snow shovels? There is a shortage here and more snow on the way!
Re: Correction: It was a rocket
Maybe that’s what the Russians were trying to help out with. Burn up some of those mountains of snow with fiery blast of rocket debris!
Re: Correction: It was a rocket
Or it is all a cover up and Boulder is the new Roswell. Actually that would explain a lot…
Their weatherman frightens me …
Even though I know most TV weathermen are nothing but talking heads, the majority of them at least know enough to fake some modicum of knowledge.
A meteor shower is "an exctinct constellation." Mind you he double checked his copy and read this on the air.
Wow.
News-babe: "Why do the pieces seem to fizzle out?"
Weather-fool: "I don’t know."
I know at least two of the meteorologists in my area actually have some experience in the field. The rest of them take pains to hide their ignorance.
I am truly, absolutely speechless.

And sadly this pinhead likely makes 5 times what I do. Ah well, life is never fair.
Meteor? Rocket debris?
