Weekly Comics Discussion – January 31, 2007

As always, the complete list can be found here.

Dark Horse Comics

  • STAR WARS KNIGHTS OF THE OLD REPUBLIC #13

DC Comics

  • 52 WEEK #39 – This is the 3/4 mark, and the weekly comic is staying on schedule, despite a massive throwback when the editor changed. From a purely production standpoint, that’s impressive.
  • BATMAN AND THE MAD MONK (OF 6)
  • ION #10 (OF 12) – The TPB of the first six issues is also out this week, and I’m still not sure what to make of the series. It’s really one that will have a make-or-break ending.
  • JLA CLASSIFIED
  • JSA CLASSIFIED #22

Marvel Comics

  • ANITA BLAKE VH GUILTY PLEASURES #4 (OF 12)
  • ANNIHILATION (OF 6)
  • BLACK PANTHER #24 – The Civil War tie-in continues.
  • CABLE DEADPOOL VOL 4 BOSOM BUDDIES TP – I don’t normally list reprints of trade paperbacks, but if you’re not already reading this series, you should seriously consider starting. In my opinion, the best part of the Civil War to date was the impetus to try this title. I really regret not reading any Deadpool titles before this.
  • DAREDEVIL #93 – I gotta love Brubaker on this title.
  • ESSENTIAL GHOST RIDER VOL 2 TP – I don’t plan to pick this up, but I’ll try to review volume one in time for the movie.
  • ULTIMATE CIVIL WAR SPIDER-HAM CRISIS #1 – When JMS talked about bringing Spider-Ham back, he wasn’t joking.
  • ULTIMATE FANTASTIC FOUR #38

  1. This week’s comics
For those interested, I’ll have a review of Batman and the Mad Monk soon.

The third-last Strangers in Paradise came out this week, too, with a really questionable plot twist…..
