Why?
Just out of curiosity, does anyone else feel like we’re being overwhelmed by remakes / “updates” of not-so-good shows from the 70s and 80s? What’s next, a remake of Buck Rogers?

You gotta problem with that? :)
Buck Rogers was already a remake, so hopefully that’s dead and gone. Or at the very least that stupid robot.
If you’d like to know why, it’s really a simple answer. The Gen-X kids are now adults. Adults with big incomes and kids. It’s no surprise we’re seeing new versions of old material (Scooby-Doo, He-Man, etc.), they are good moneymakers. Until they stop making money, you’ll be seeing a lot more of this in the near future.
