…this week also brings the resolution of a lawsuit over a fan film, a major medical breakthrough for AIDS treatment and the arrival at Kennedy Space Center of the craft that will head to the asteroid belt.

While Ollie and Dig sneak around a suburban dystopia in the most conspicuous manner possible over on Arrow, Captain Lance takes time to guest-star on the season finale of Legends, which has the team jumping through history and previous episodes in a desperate attempt to end Vandal Savage for all time, before he can reset time with himself as master of the world.
Feel free to discuss Arrow here, too, since we don’t have a review this week.
Conflicts were resolving, suggesting we would see a new era of cooperation between former enemies.
Some cooperation might still happen, but only because everything has collapsed for Clone Club and Susan Duncan, and some characters have not survived. What begins with hope ends with one of Orphan Black‘s bleakest installments.

Robert Charles Wilson’s 2015 offering is more social science fiction, a blend of creeping near-dystopia, spy/crime thriller, and unnervingly plausible look at the next decade. It also may be the best among those SF novels overlooked by both the Hugos and Nebulas.

Just when you thought Twelve Monkeys couldn’t get any more bananas….
The 2016 Nebulas were awarded tonight at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago. Female authors dominate this year’s awards, which include, as always, several works also nominated for Hugos. In a year that saw many strong SF movies, the Bradbury winner might surprise some people, and delight others.
The winners are:
Darwyn Cooke, the Eisner-winning writer and artist of comics, is dead at 53. Cooke is best-remembered for his work with DC, including the brilliant retro-series, The New Frontier.
Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Hero Initiative.
“What is that damned zombie doing in my E-Z-boy?”
Neither as consistently funny as Zombieland nor as clever as Shaun of the Dead, this 2006 Canadian zom-com nevertheless should appeal to fans of the genre—or those tired of The Walking Dead‘s grimly serious take on the subject matter.
“I don’t know. Sarah things. Skulk around. Look miserable. Con people.”

This week, Cosima, Krystal, and Donnie engage in “Sarah Things” with hilarious results, while Sarah addresses family matters and serious issues and ethical questions arise.
The show ends with a kiss, but it won’t comfort most viewers.
