One of TV’s best SF series gave us one last look at Clone Club.
Expect spoilers.
We’ll have a more detailed review next week, when the series concludes. Meanwhile, the Bureau considers Orphan Black‘s penultimate episode. What rough beast slouches towards Toronto to be born?
As the blade is about to drop on this show, the Neolutionists’ crimes are downloaded, and three significant characters are down for good.
Out, vile jelly!
Where is thy lustre now?
—King Lear, Act III, Scene vii
More long-unseen characters return as the Neolutionists move to harvest Kira’s eggs.
We see flashbacks to Rachel’s past, as she casts her eye on joining Clone Club.
While not one of the strongest episodes, this week’s Orphan Black accomplishes much, revealing the truth behind P.T. Westmoreland, Mud, and the island, reintroducing Krystal for some broad comedy, and setting up the possible demise of several characters by taking the Island of Dr. Moreau parallels to the brink of their dark, logical conclusion.
This Cosima-focussed episode reveals a little more about Westmoreland and the island, but not much more. Meanwhile, Sarah, Siobhan, and Kira engage in some plotting and family bonding, and a monster is in the house.
We’re a little late for this week’s Orphan Black, which broadcast on Canada Day.
Several characters return (along with the oddball, allusive title) as the clones probe more deeply into the mystery behind Neolution and P.T. Westmoreland.
This week’s Allison-centered ep shows us past and present in Bailey Downs, as the Hendrixes’ histories catch up with them, and Kira learns more about herself.
Orphan Black‘s final season continues, with character committing acts of brutal violence, villains corralling the clones, and significant questions lingering.
Will we finally see the Cow? And what rough shape will it take?
Orphan Black returns for its fifth and final season. Tatiana Maslany remains in fine form as various clones; whether the labyrinthine plotting and byzantine backstory can maintain the season until the end remains a mystery.
