As previously announced, the Bureau will have regular audio podcast content coming in 2013, and running for several years. The movie podcasts (monthly “Silver Screen Superman” in 2013, “Big Screen Batman” in 2014, and discussion of high ranking titles from the ongoing Greatest Science Fiction Film tournament) are fairly well mapped out. It looks like the originally announced schedule for the X-Files retrospective podcast may have been more conservative than necessary, so I’m opening the floor for opinions from our readers/listeners. Greatest Science Fiction Film Tournament Week 1: Round 1
We announced our tournament last week. It begins this week. Over the next 24 weeks, we winnow out 2/3 of the titles in the competition, with the first 16 being evaluated this week. Note that we are not taking a set number of films from any given week of round one: this is being broken into 24 weeks just to make each week’s batch of votes smaller to promote participation. Please start voting here, marking our first 16 titles as “above average,” “average,” “below average” or titles you haven’t seen.
Podcast Roundup
In my day job, I am District Manager for a district that is half the size of Texas. Unfortunately, that means I’ve had very limited time to write for the Bureau in recent months. On the plus side, it means a lot of travel time and a lot of podcasts get listened to. Many of these are genre related, so I decided to share some of these with our readers, including a couple of fairly new ones that are very entertaining and right in line with Bureau 42 material. New Publishing Venue for Bureau 42 Teaches Content
I’m trying an additional venue for the Bureau 42 Teaches content. I have no intentions of stopping what is being published here. The 2010 Summer School about Quantum Mechanics is now available via Graphic.Ly in HTML 5 and Facebook formats. Similarly, the 2011 Summer School about Assessment is available in both formats as well.
