Book Review – “Spider-Man” movie novelization
The novel adapted from an early draft of the
Spider-Man movie script is on store
shelves. There are minor spoilers below, but
nothing that would be news to comic book fans or
anyone who has seen the previews for the movie.
Still, if you want to stay spoiler-free, here’s
the short version: it’s good. I will
see this movie on opening night.
Book Review – Shadow of the Hegemon
The sixth and latest novel in the “Ender’s Game”
series is out in paperback. Read more if you
want to read the review. (Don’t read the back of
the book!)
Beowulf, Now With 20% Fewer Sleeping Pills
This is just cool. The fantasy epic, Beowulf, lives on in a new, actually-readable, translation by Dr. David Breeden. I remember reading one of the older translations in high school, and thinking, “man, this would be a good story if it made any sense.” This version is eminently readable, and breathes new life into the oldest of the old school.

anyone’s going to try and fill into the market
void he’ll leave behind. The details are here.
Book Review – “Stacy’s Heart”
