Weekly New Releases – October 6, 2015
It’s October. Time for the Christmas titles to start coming out! Seriously, this happens every year.
Greatest Fantasy Film Tournament: Week 32, Round 2
Round 2 draws to a close this week with the latest round of voting. Last week’s list had only a single statistical upset, as seen in the tournament brackets, when The Seventh Seal (1957) overtook Dracula (1931).
GSFFT October Podcast – The Thing From Another World
This week the podcast returns, with myself and David Stark taking on the 1951 classic horror film, The Thing From Another World.
Blaine and I previously did a podcast on John Carpenter’s remake of this film, The Thing.
October Review: It Follows (2015)
We’re back, with another creepy collection of cinematic terror, past and present, in print and podcast form. To start our morbid month-long countdown to Halloween, we have one of the most discussed horror films of the previous year. It Follows revisits the slasher genre, giving it a supernatural twist, meta-conventions, and beautifully eerie cinematography.
See a lugubrious listing of our full, foul countdown, after the review:

Greatest Fantasy Film Tournament, Week 28, Round 2
I apologize for the lateness of this update. I was away from my normal computer for much of the weekend, and failed to make appropriate preparations. The next round of voting is here, and commentary on last week’s results will be omitted as I haven’t even looked at them yet, so I can focus on getting this update out. The updates will appear on the brackets as usual momentarily.
