Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 2022 April 17

Plenty of new shows this week!  The Doctor gives us a pirate battle with the Sea Devils.  Russian Doll drops a new season (no word on if it involves anything Ukrainian,) as does Better Call Saul, but only the first two episodes.  Riverdale turns Archie into a folk hero.  The Good Doctor gets mechanical and meta.  The Blacklist finally acknowledges that Red is actually in charge.  We also get new Moon Knight, Young Justice, Picard, and Halo, but no advanced descriptions.

Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 2022 April 10

I hope you recovered from last week’s table from our site’s favorite Jovial Disciple, but there isn’t much information to give you this week.  Riverdale’s announces plans to get rid of its gangs.  Robot Chicken ends its season in typical Robot Chicken fashion.  The Flash and Chester work on the problem while Caitlin makes things worse.  The Blacklist’s task force is shaken when one of them actually is subject to the laws they enforce.  We also have The Good Doctor going to a potluck, but otherwise Moon Knight, Picard, Young Justice, and Halo give us episodes they want us to go into blind.

Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 2022 March 27

Riverdale returns for us this week, cleaning up after an explosion.  Robot Chicken visits Dexter’s Lab.  The Good Doctor treats a 45 year old virgin.  Superman’s X and wife become friends (which is the scariest threat anyone can face.)  Naomi spends time with her friends.  The Flash strikes out while his wife goes to Coast City.  The Blacklist searches for abductees.  Young Justice and Picard both give use new episodes without descriptions, and the nights might just be safe for traveler now that Disney+ drops Moon Knight.

Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 2022 March 20

A slower week, but if Robot Chicken’s visit to St., Olaf, The Good Doctor’s visit to a long term care facility, Superman and Lois’s visit with John Henry, The Flash’s trust of a suspected murderer, and The Blacklists’ Task Force visit with an escort service doesn’t keep you entertained, Bridgerton’s second season also drops at the end of the week.  It’s not exactly genre, unless you are willing to accept that Bridgerton exists the way Dark City exists.

Star Trek Discovery Discussion: “Coming Home”

Discovery had a rough start and received a mixed (and not consistently fair) welcome. It developed and, by Season Three, had a new premise that frequently worked. Season Four has featured some strong episodes, but permitted a poorly-handled, derivative story arc to hamper the show. The most recent season came to a conclusion. With one more season than the original series, Discovery still struggles with finding its identity.

Star Trek Discovery Review: “Rubicon,” “The Galactic Barrier,” “Rosetta,” “Species Ten-C”

Jett Reno returns!

Discovery‘s season finale takes place later this week. We’ve watched some of the strongest moments in recent episodes, and also a few significant stumbles. The last two seasons have been the show Discovery should have been from the start, but the current arc has proved a positive and a negative, for reasons I shall opine on below.

We hope to hear your opinions, too. With the exception of Enterprise, few Trek series have divided fans more.

Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 2022 March 13

This week, Miraculous ends its season with a two-parter.  Robot Chicken brings in Yoshi and Snoopy.  The Good Doctor gets into partisan politics and cancer.  The Flash plays Die Hard at their police station while the cold characters get cozy.  We get new episodes and season finale’s of Raised by Wolves, Star Trek: Discovery and Star Trek: Picard.  Blacklist gets into the dark web stock market.

Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 2022 March 6

A slight shake-up this week, as shows from last week.  We have Miraculous to keep the kids busy for a few moments while you watch Robot Chicken go against the Powerpuff Girls.  The Good Doctor gets a pop star in the hospital.  Superman is filled with family drama, even pitting brother against brother.  Naomi goes gar shopping.  The Legends skip town this week, but The Flash steps in with a new episode.  In Season Eight, Arrow tried to shift the show to the kids of the main character, which didn’t work, so now the Flash is going to try it.  Discovery is out, but Picard is here to do Penance in their place.  Raised by Wolves doesn’t give us any hints about their second to last episode this season, other than they’re “Feeding”.
