The series continues with volume 2, which continues the more episodic content of the series, with a short plot arc (with a little information on where the plot may be going). Continue reading →

Manga Review – Outlanders Vol. 1
This week I’m taking a break from all things CLAMP in the manga reviews for something slightly different, an alien invasion manga, published in the US in the mid-90s by Dark Horse. Continue reading →
Manga Review – Tokyo Babylon Vol. 1
I’m continuing with the CLAMP reviews with the first volume of Tokyo Babylon vol. 1. Why, yes, I am reading a whole bunch of manga at once. That said, being that this series ties in heavily to their later series, X/1999, I might as well read it before I continue to X. So, does this series lay the ground work for greater things to come? Continue reading →
Manga Review – RG Veda Vol. 1
I previously reviewed the first volume of CLAMP’s universe-jumping series Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle. As the series is going to be putting out a lot of references to other CLAMP works, I’ve decided to get caught up on some of CLAMP’s old stuff. Yes, a lot of the references will be accounted for in the translator’s notes, but sometimes it’s good to not have to rely on the translator’s notes. So, what better place to begin than at the beginning – CLAMP’s first original work, R.G. Veda. For the first volume of a first series, how does it hold up? Continue reading →
Manga Review – Tsubasa Vol. 1
At the start of this month, I reviewed the first volume of one of CLAMP’s most recent manga, XXXHolic. That manga tied in to the first volume of CLAMP’s other major manga starting around the same time XXXHolic started – “Reservoir Chronicle Tsubasa”. I’ve now read the first volume of that comic. So – how does CLAMP’s universe jumping comic start out? Continue reading →
Movie Review – “Astro Boy (2009)”
Good day. I am ready to record my report for the archives of this institute. I’ll make it short. Thank you.
Manga Review – Justy
This week I have a manga review for you of a title I picked up at Kumoricon. It’s an older manga title, back when they were publishing them in the US like comic books, flipped and in smaller chunks, instead of the larger Tankobon volumes. This one is an early space opera title put out in the US by Viz when they were just getting started. Continue reading →
Q & A with Viz On New Original Comic Project
Anime Vice has an interview with Eric Searleman, senior editor of their new original content program. Basically, Viz is getting back into publishing OEL (Original English Language) Manga again, and they’re accepting open submissions. So, if you’re looking to getting into comics and you’re willing to work in the somewhat smaller layout of manga, this might be a way to get your first work out there (aside from going with web comics). If you can’t draw, that’s okay – they’re willing to accept writer only submissions as well. I don’t know if they’re looking for individual artists at the moment.
Manga Review – XXXHolic Vol. 1
I have another manga review for you this week, the first installment of one of CLAMP’s two mega-crossover manga, xxxHolic, which was started with their other mega-crossover series, Resevoir Chronicles Tsubasa. So. does xxxHolic stand on it’s own, or does it lean too much on Clamp’s back catalog? Continue reading →
Manga Review – Record of Lodoss War: The Grey Witch Vol. 3
Alright, we’ve reached the final act of the core Record of Lodoss War series, at least as far as the Manga is concerned. How does it hold up in relation to the anime, and on its own? Does it come to a good conclusion, whether wraps everything up or leaves an opening for a sequel (or not)? Continue reading →
