Pink Panther
Has anyone seen The Pink Panther? I love Steve Martin, but I was really turned off by the previews of this movie. He just didn’t seem to fit the character very well.

Typically, when a movie is delayed as many times as this has, it’s not a good sign. Metacritic gives it a 39/100.

I’ve said this so many times my wife is stick of hearing it: Steve Martin is an awesome actor and author, but he is no Inspector Clouseau. The very reason that the original Clouseau was so good was because the actor, Peter Sellers, had pushed so far over the genius spectrum that he was quite insane. Take a look at the flick The Life and Death of Peter Sellers for some details.

Many other British actors/artists of Sellers’ time suffered similar problems – Spike Milligan was bio-polar and had major depression problems, many others turned to drink, etc.
