Cars is a pretty good movie. Not spectacular, no tears-in-my-eyes funny moments like Over The Hedge, just all-round goodness.

The squirrel on an energy drink was my highlight of the movie.

I actually preferred Cars to Over the Hedge. Over the Hedge had better pacing and some very funny moments, Cars definitely suffered from some slow periods and not all of the comedy was funny. Other than that, the animation of Cars was significantly better (some of the backgrounds were breathtaking), the plot didn’t feel secondary to the gags, the characters were more interesting and the end credits were hilarious.

I liked the squirrel bit from Over the Hedge, but it felt telegraphed and a bit too similar to a certain Futurama episode.

My hilarious Cars moment was the hippie telling Lightning about why he hasn’t heard of organic fuel before. "It’s a conspiracy!"

        That made me guffaw.
