  1. I was hoping for an actor worthy of the character, but I’d settle for a script I suppose.

I haven’t much cared for the last two big-screen choices (including this one).

    • On the one hand, I was hoping for that, but I can certainly understand why they wouldn’t want that.

If Tom Welling was cast, people would be expecting a movie in the “Smallville” version of the universe, and it might limit what the screenwriter could do. They might have to ensure what they do/say doesn’t break the canon of the show without pissing off a bunch of fans…

A lot less people would be pissed off that TW was passed over for the part than there would be if he was Superman and they butchered the Smallville version of events.

Is that the version where Clark Kent retires from The Daily Planet, decides he’s tired of puttering around on a pension, and so he decides to become Superman?

  2. Superman gets jealous of Lois Lane’s new boyfriend, so he spanks her. You know, so Superman would be accurate in terms of comics canon.

  3. I didn’t even know they were re-casting for it. I thought Brandon Routh pulled off the look – it was the script of the 2006 movie that was terrible. I hope they aren’t planning to darken up the image or anything :(
