Omnibus Galactica Webisodes Thead
Oh hey, look, new Battlestar Galactica! It’s just a four-minute snippet, but it’s more than we’ve had in the last few months.
Just like “The Resistance,” over the next few weeks we’ll get the equivalent of a whole new episode, through the Sci-Fi Channel Web site. “The Face of the Enemy” has a couple of Boomers and Felix “The Bionic Man” Gaeta going off and having wacky spinoff adventures.
They’re trying to geolocate it so people outside the United States can’t watch, but it’s on other video sites if you know to look for it.
Galactica returning January 16, 2009
Newsarama reports that BSG’s final episodes will begin airing on Sci-Fi beginning on Friday, January 16, 2009. There will be Web-based mini-episodes leading up to it, and ten days prior (January 6, 2009) we’ll finally get the first half of the season on DVD.
January will also bring us new BSG comics, focusing on the first war between Human and Cylon.
Tetsuo Goes Blu-Ray
Anime News Network reports that, next February, anime classic Akira will be released in Blu-Ray. This will roughly the 843rd time it’s been cleaned-up, upscaled, and released in a newer, higher-resolution format. Somehow, it just keeps getting more and more awesome, though.
Eoin Colfer to pen new “Hitchhiker’s” novel
The BBC reports that Jane Belson, widow of Douglas Adams, has asked Eoin Colfer (author of the Artemis Fowl books) to write another novel featuring Arthur Dent.

“Tales of Beedle The Bard” available for pre-order
As mentioned last December, one copy of JK Rowling’s handwritten book of fairy tales sold for nearly two million pounds. Fortunately, we can get it slightly cheaper now… The standard edition is available for pre-order now, at seven dollars and change; even the fancy collectors’ edition, dolled up to look like something from the Hogwarts library, is a meager $100.
