Be warned: this trailer, in the contemporary manner, reveals a little too much. And yet, it doesn’t begin to show you where Jordan Peele’s new horror-movie goes….

Star Trek Discovery Review: “The Red Angel”
Discovery finally reveals the Red Angel’s identity in what is otherwise the weakest episode of Season Two.
Star Trek Discovery Review: “Project Daedalus”
Director Jonathan Frakes takes the crew to Section 31 headquarters, located in a former Riker’s Island of space. We learn the backstory of two of Discovery’s secondary characters and the solution to other, before the episode sets up our heroes to fight the System.
Literally.
Weekend Review: Westworld Season 2: “The Door”
We never did get around to reviewing the second season of Westworld (The Door) so we’re offering it as a Weekend Review.
I was concerned the show might break stride or hobble a bit in its second season. It heads out a full gallop, and drops some of the best episodes in the history of SF television.
Scroll down a bit to find the review. The cast is very large.
Avengers: Endgame — New Trailer
If you haven’t seen it yet, the new Endgame trailer appeared today.
I like this one.
Star Trek Discovery Review: “If Memory Serves”
So, Spock is even more special than TOS had us believe, Culber still hasn’t come to terms with being alive again, and Talos IV remains a wasteland inhabited by bulgy-headed aliens, though they’re somewhat less sinister and, well, alien, than a low-budget series made them look and sound fifty+ years ago.
Discovery does give us a visually-impressive wasteland, along with further clues regarding the Red Angel.
Newspace: SpaceX, Scooby-Doo, and More!
A SpaceX Dragon Capsule docked with the International Space Station, hopefully inaugurating an era when the west can continue its space business without relying on certain problematic countries. The test flight carried no people, only a dummy named, believe it or not, Ripley.
In nerd entertainment news, the year 2020 will not only give us the next Halloween to fall on a Saturday with a full moon1, it will see a new, animated Scooby-Doo movie, with some notable names doing voices. Mystery, Inc. will join forces with other Hanna-Barbera characters to stop…. Dick Dastardly?
Well, this could be interesting.

Star Trek Discovery Review: “Light and Shadows”
Burnham finally locates Spock, Pike leads a dangerous mission, and the finale foreshadows a major role for the mysterious Lt. Cmdr. Airiam and a return to a mind-bending TOS planet.
With Lent beginning next week, the show begins a quest to achieve maximum Easter Eggs.
Oscars Wins 2019 and SF/Fantasy/Horror
The genres we cover here have traditionally been less-likely to win, but that is less true now than at any time in film history.
A list appears below, with genre (and related) wins highlighted:
Star Trek Discovery Review: “Sound of Thunder”
The Discovery returns Saru to his home planet, where he reconnects with his people and tries to move the Ba’ul.
