At some point over the weekend, the database server got toasted, and everything posted after about noon on Sunday was non-recoverable. “We apologize for the inconvenience.”

So now, my New Years’ resolution is to get even better backups in place. How about you? What are you looking forward to this year – Star Wars II, Harry Potter II, Lord of the Rings II, or something that doesn’t have a Roman numeral behind it?

Assuming I can get the weekend off, I’ll be at Archon 25 in a couple of weeks. They’ve got a list of Guests of Honor longer than I am tall, gaming, and fun for everyone. Vote for this site if you feel kind and generous; you don’t even have to attend the con (though anyone who’s even close to Saint Louis better be there).

A couple of people have been emailing me with messages along the lines of “hey, my screen’s full of errors instead of informative news-y goodness.” Details follow.
