Weekly Comics Discussion – August 31, 2011

The complete list of titles is available here. This is the week that the DC relaunch begins, with Flashpoint #5 and Justice League hitting today. New readers should NOT start with Flashpoint, but with Justice League, which will also be available digitally at 11ET. Will will provide links to purchase that and the other 51 new issues this month, but the links cannot be constructed until they are available for sale.

Weekly Comics Discussion – August 24, 2011

The complete list of titles is available here. This is the last week before the big DC relaunch starts. Next week’s list from DC has a grand total of two titles: Flashpoint #5 and Justice League . The main Flashpoint miniseries and all 52 new issues will be reviewed starting on the Labor Day weekend. We’re looking into setting up our own digital comics webstore through ComiXology that would allow readers to pick up titles through referrals, as with our Sunday Weekly Digital Disk columns.

DC Reboot 2011: A Crisis of Infinite Possibilities

The buzz from Comicon over the DCU reboot hasn’t been entirely positive1. Lots of people wonder why DC wants to fix something that wasn’t especially broke– something they just spent the last decade fixing. Heck, they just finished Superman’s latest origin last autumn. Now he’s got a new one, no reddy-tighties, and a deal with Mephisto that erases his marriage from continuity. Or sumpin’ like that.

Never mind. The reboot’s happening whether we want it or not so, while DC counts down, here’s the place to suggest what DC 2011 should look like. You know, if they consulted us.
