Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 2021 February 21

There’s a new arrival as Superman and Lois launches their Pilot this week, though there is no sign of his cousin’s show returning.  Elsewhere, Delayed by COVID, Batwoman views some disgusting art and Black Lightning’s wife makes a breakthrough.  Meanwhile, in the MCU, we can see what the newly revealed theme song can give us on WandaVision.  Before we’re out of the comics, be sure we check in with the American Gods as Shadow and his estranged wife explore small town life, and Gizmoduck appears on DuckTales.  Now that we are out of the comic section, Riverdale turns the “kids” to teachers so they don’t need to build new sets.  The Good Doctor deals with ransomware, which I expect will give the IT guys like me watching the show the same reaction a real-world doctor does when watching surgery scenes.  On The Blacklist, some job opportunities present themselves.

Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 2021 February 14

As we all bask in the love celebrated today, we have a new crop of episodes for our breakroom television.  Batwoman fills out a dating profile, and is evidently attracted to opposites.  The Watch gives us the season finale and a candle light dinner.  American Gods see’s the release of the updated dating app, Bilquis.  On Black Lightning, Lightning meets a new boy.  The Good Doctor goes out for a dinner at a light restaurant.  Riverdale gets a date for Homecoming, and two Blacklisters managed to hook up.  WandaVision doesn’t give us any description, but having watched it shows that we aren’t likely to see marital bliss we’d expect from the couple.

Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 2021 February 7

For a short month, we have a short list, with only five new shows.  The Watch and WandaVision decide to forgo the episode descriptions, but Wanda is in her comic’s accurate costume in the images, so I suspect we have a Halloween episode.  Black Lighting returns for its fourth season, while Zoey has less and less friends at her job.  On the Blacklist, we continue in a world without Elizabeth.

Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 2021 January 24

A special thank you to visionary_coward for suggesting the Watch, as it is a delightful show!  This week, they get out of the mortgage game.  Batwoman gives us a rare second season look at a new person learning to be the title character.  American Gods tries to cover a Dan Brown story.  The Good Doctor gets taken home to meet the parents.  Staged wraps up their story with some surprise casting and some surprise meetings.  Zoey and her friends all have to work, and Riverdale talks business..  On The Expanse, I do not have an episode description, but the title appears to describe the feeling after a hard night of drinking, so I guess it’s an Amos or Bobbi centered episode.  The Blacklist is still on the air, and the character they wanted to set the show around has become the enemy of the show.  Also, WandaVision continues its happy sitcom charade into the 80s, having added two more fan favorite comic characters at the end of last episode.

Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 2021 January 17

The wait is over, as the shows start rushing back!  First, we start by watching The Watch seek a sword.  Then, Batwoman offers us multiple Batwomen and a Bruce Wayne that leaves even the synopsis skeptical.  In American Gods, we see that even when Shadow thinks he can get out, they pull him back in.  The Good Doctor sees if you actually can buy eternal life, while David and Michael turn their guest stars into therapists, and we learn the final choice for their roles on Staged.  Zoey dreams big, and The Expanse really, really cleans their carpets.  The “Teens” on Riverdale return for their fifth year of highschool.  Wanda and Vision doesn’t give us a synopsis, but so far each episode has been a sitcom from a previous decade, and it looks like we just made it to colorization and the seventies.  On The Blacklist, we see Elizabeth Keen turn on Reddington.

Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 2021 January 10

Having caught up on all of what my wife calls “Drop Shows” (shows that drop the whole season at a time) we can all get ready for the return of the worlds most expensive series, the MCU! Season Phase 4 starts off with WandaVision at the end of this week.  If Marvel comics aren’t your thing, Dark Horse’s American Gods comes back for season three, also.  The Watch plans a heist, and The Good Doctor continues to be one of the only shows to exist in a universe where COVID has had an effect.  Well, The Good Doctor and Staged, as David and Michael continue to process the fact that their show is going to America without them.  Zoey gives us a new character, and The Expanse doesn’t give us a description.
