We already
reported on the Golden Globe nominations. The
winners were announced last night. You can find
a list of just the winners over on Yahoo!
News. The only genre winner was for best
original song from the fantasy film Kate and
Leopold. Oddly enough, this is the only
genre film released in 2002 that I had no desire
to see.

Terminator 3: How You Know It’s For Real
When the studios start spending buckets of money, that’s how you know they’re actually planning to make it into a movie. Case in point: “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines,” which just got a $70 million cash infusion in exchange for the foreign distribution rights. Requisite news story.

New Line Cinema is auctioning
off memorabilia from “Fellowship of the Ring”
on eBay. “Portions” of the proceeds go to
charity. Just in case you didn’t get
everything you wanted for Christmas.

Astroboy on the big screen
According to the WEEN news (listed on the IMDB
Studio Brief for December 10) a completely
CGI movie based on Astroboy is in the
works from Sony Pictures Entertainment. Expect
it no sooner than 2005, by my estimates.
