TV Shows On DVD is reporting that the seventh season of The X-Files will be released on DVD on May 13. One week later, Dark Angel: The Complete First Season will be released.
Star Trek Deep Space 9 – Full DVD release schedule
TV Shows on DVD has the full release schedule for Star Trek: Deep Space Nine on DVD. Season 1 will be out February 25, season 2 April 1, season 3 June 3, season 4 August 5, season 5 October 7, season 6 December 2, and season 7 “end of December.” (That’ll be Dec. 30 if they follow the same type of release schedule as Star Trek The Next Generation.)

Harry Potter 5: June 21, 2003
And it’s about time… BBC News says the fifth Harry Potter book, “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix,” will be released on June 21 (it’s a Saturday, by the way). It’ll also weigh in at something like 255,000 words, about 1/3 larger than the hefty “Goblet of Fire”.

Turkish SF rip-offs
Timeshredder writes, Several Turkish-made films exist which rip off big budget American SF and fantasy, remake them (sort of) for less budget than the average personal website, and insert pirated effects scenes from the original. Googling “Turkish Star Wars” or “Turkish Star Trek” will result in various sites reviewing these, with varying degrees of hilarity and incredulity. These could be an amusing way to pass the time, at least until tonight’s new Smallville and tomorrow’s new Angel.
People’s Choice Awards
The People’s Choice Awards were given out on Sunday. A list of the winners can be found here. Genre winners include Fellowship of the Ring and Spider-Man in a tie for best picture, Fellowship of the Ring for best dramatic movie, and Mel Gibson for best actor from his work in Signs.
