If you haven’t already heard, there’s (depending on your source) a 1 in 45 or a 1 in 37 chance that Asteroid 2004 MN4 could wander into the planet on April 13, 2029, causing widespread destruction and other unpleasant effects reminiscent of the plots of bad movies from 1998. Information may be found here and here.
Happy New Year!
UPDATE: As reported in the responses, more recent estimates significantly reduce the odds of impact.

Why does the best genre entertainment have to die

Christmas Review– The Junky’s Christmas
This 1993 adaptation of William S. Burrough’s short story may be the least-shown animated seasonal special in history (with the possible exception of The Glowworm’s Christmas), but it also ranks among the best– provided you’re not a child.

Today’s
shipping list includes Green Lantern Rebirth
#3, and Ultimate Elektra #5. I’ll pass
on Astonishing X-Men #7 this week, and pick
up the trade paperback later. (I’m eventually
switching all my titles back to trades, with the
possible exception of Supreme Power, because
waiting just one month gets hard sometimes.)
