This season doesn’t waste any time getting to the next crisis. This week contrasts striking visual designs with galactically horrible decisions. Our protagonists do these horrible things for what they believe are good reasons.
Unfortunately, the episode ends with them unable to find comfort…..
DC’s TV-verse serves up only two shows this week. On Supergirl, the Maid of Might stands by Lena Luthor when she seems to join forces with Lillian and Metallo. Kara ends the show thinking her support for her friend has been vindicated; we’re less certain.
In this week’s episode of Arrow , Melkotians force our heroes to relive the gunfight at OK Corral tensions increase among allies, and we learn Mad Dog’s origin.
Next week goes full-on comic book, with the Flash engaging in warfare at Gorilla City and Supergirl mixing it up with a pest from the fifth dimension.
As the trial of Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier nears (March or April of this year), we review Irene Taylor Brodsky’s disturbing HBO documentary about the Slenderman Stabbing case—and about the history and impact of the online horror icon.
Plots converge and suspense intensifies with the most recent episode of The Expanse.

A ray of hope shines for fans, as this fairly well-done episodes pits Supergirl and her Martian associates against a bounty hunter from the red planet.

The Legends travel to 1776 when they realize something’s wrong with Washington.
Arrow: “Bratva”
Team Arrow heads to Russia; Lance returns from rehab.
For those who’ve grown tired of superheroes and magic spells and want some science fiction on the small screen, contemporary television’s great, dark Space Opera has returned for its second season.
As with the first season, we’ll be reviewing the first two episodes (once again, premiered together), and then follow with weekly discussions, and reviews of the first and second halves, as the best way to address the story-arc-heavy show.
Supergirl: “We Can Be Heroes”
A tighter episode than last week’s sees Supergirl, Mon-El, and Guardian work together when Livewire escapes from prison. Or was she kidnapped?
The Flash: “Dead or Alive”
As Team Flash plot to change Iris’s future, Vibe battles a metahuman bounty hunter for the life of H.R.
Legends of Tomorrow: “The Legion of Doom”
The villainous alliance faces challenges from within as the heroes try to save Rip and history.
Arrow: “Second Chances”
Ollie teams up with Talia al Ghul, Felicity attempts to free Diggle, and the Team encounter the new Black Canary.
We’re late to the party, of course, but that’s the nature of our Weekend Reviews. This time, we look back to last autumn’s addition to the Marvel Cinematic/TV Universe, Luke Cage, Powerman, Hero for Hire.1
So it wasn’t one heart that broke that night; it was two. And the night was far from over…

The CW’s alternative take on Archie premiered last night, and it will almost certainly be a hit. It currently scores over 80% at RottenTomatoes.
Forget Trump and Putin. This may be the real reason scientists moved the Doomsday Clock forward. If this show isn’t a portent of an Apocalypse, I don’t know what is.
