Leonard Nimoy’s Transformation – Sentinel Prime?
According to Entertainment Weekly (among others), Michael Bay has pulled Leonard Nimoy out of “retirement” so that he can voice the character of Sentinel Prime for the third installment of the Transformers franchise.
Can Nimoy save the series? Is it, in fact, worth saving?
Updates coming to several of our links
Due to circumstances at work, I’ve been behind in a few of our links and updates. By the end of this weekend, three areas that are behind will be updated. First of all, the “Blaine’s Video Collection” link in the lower right will transform into “Blaine’s Collections,” and detail my movie, comic and book collections as hosted by Collectorz.com connect. Second, the needed edits to the second lesson of “Math From Scratch” will be implemented and uploaded. Finally, the “Bureau 42 Event Calendar” will be updated for all shows we usually cover. (We’re open to suggestions on that front, too.)
Bureau42.com turns 10
Bureau42.com originally went live on October 18, 2000, at 19:33 (server time). Ten years later, the site authors take a moment to reflect on some highlights of that time.
Simon Pegg & Friends Abducted By Demons

Wil Wheaton to guest star on Eureka
Thanks to alert reader Fez. it’s been brought to our attention that Wil Wheaton is soon to guest star on SyFy’s Eureka. Wil’s been showing up in lots of places recently – is he plotting to mobilize his growing army of minions in the near future and take over the world?
Bureau 42 IRC chatroom now live
Thanks go to regular reader and commenter Lex Pendragon, who just set up a Bureau 42 chatroom at irc://irc.freenode.net/#Bureau42. You’ll find a permanent link down on the right hand side of the site, by the links to the staff list, event calendar, twitter feed, and so forth.
Bureau 42 Event Calendar now live
There’s a new link on the right hand side of your page: the Bureau 42 event calendar. Here you can find a list of events relevant or of interest to Bureau 42 readers. This includes genre movie releases, major DVD/Blu-Ray releases, new episodes of genre TV shows (with reminders 15 hours before broadcast, which can be added to your own digital calendars) and reminders about upcoming columns and reviews that we have scheduled. All times are in Pacific time, the same time zone as our server. We take requests for event addition. (Current TV shows included: Lost, Smallville and Supernatural.)
Blaine’s Video Collection to your right
The recent column asking for votes on upcoming reviews was popular, so now there’s a permanent column for just that very thing. My entire DVD/Blu-Ray/HD DVD collection is now listed under “Links” to your right, just below the comments. There you’ll find my collection, links to vote for upcoming reviews, and (in time) links to existing reviews. Enjoy!
