Firefly on DVD

TV Shows on DVD has confirmed that Fox is talking about Firefly on DVD. Hoo-rah! “A Firefly DVD” is coming. I don’t know if that’s the pilot movie or the entire season, but I’ll be picking it up either way, if only to encourage a full season release.

Firefly on SciFi UK?

Could just be a random message board posting, but… on Fox’s official Firefly board (yup, it’s still running), someone claiming to be Mark Sheppard (who played Badger in two episodes of Firefly) says that the UK’s SciFi channel will be airing Firefly in May. (The little gavel icon in that posting allegedly means that the poster really truly is associated with the show, for what little that may be worth.)

Firefly Actors find other work

Collecting tidbits announced over the last few weeks: Nathan Fillion, who played captain Mal Reynolds on Firefly, has signed on for a recurring role on Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Gina Torres, who played the second in command on Firefly, has signed on for a recurring role on Angel. Finally, Alan Tudyk, who played the pilot on Firefly, has been cast in a film adaptation of Asimov’s I, Robot.

Firefly : Dead – Or Only Suspended Animation?

rickyjames writes, As written up on Sci-Fi Today (yeah, by yours truly, a plug to check out what’s basically a science news site I contribute a lot to), maybe there’s still more to come in the Firefly production saga… I hope this gets back on the air. Remember, it was an episode of Firefly that received the one and only perfect score given out in a Bureau 42 review (since we started counting out of 42, at least.) I want the Firefly category to get a lot more use!

UPN Passes on Firefly As Midseason Pickup

rickyjames writes, As reported on Sci-Fi Today, UPN has decided to pass on picking up Firefly for continued episode production. Fans are reorganizing to continue their quest to find Serinity and crew a new home. Three final episodes of Firefly are completed but have not been aired; no word on when, or even if, they will be broadcast. This was my favourite show this season. Not just my favourite new show, but my favourite show. It needs to find a home on a network with viewers that like to think so it can thrive.
