“The Guild” news
The Guild, starring and creatively driven by Felicia Day, launches season 3 on August 25, 2009 (one week from today) at http://www.watchtheguild.com. We’ve already reviewed season one, and I’ll try to get a season two review up shortly. Well, they’ve also teamed with the Dr. Horrible crew to create a music video titled “(Do You Wanna Date My) Avatar” which can be watched here and/or purchased from iTunes.

Transformers is now #10…of all time
Just noticed this on Box Office Mojo. Bumping The Return of the King off the list, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, is now the tenth highest grossing film in the US. Ever. Another $1.2 million will knock Revenge of the Sith out of its #9 position.
Weekend Review – “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”
Brad Pitt has chosen projects with a wide variety of quality in his career. Are we looking at something on the order of Fight Club and 12 Monkeys, or is it closer to The Mexican and Dark Side of the Sun?
Ryan Reynolds is “Green Lantern”
It’s official: Variety is reporting that Ryan Reynolds has been cast as Hal Jordan in the upcoming Green Lantern movie. It’s slated to be directed by Martin Campbell (who directed the most recent “Casino Royale”) written by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, and Michael Green, all of whom have experience writing for both film and comics. Some sites still report the original December 2010 release date, but it has been postponed to a July 2011 release.
