It was announced back in April, but Sci-Fi Wire has some details on and video of the June 5th ceremony where Ron Moore and company received the coveted award.

Ogre writes, So I found some guys working on a game set in the new BSG universe using the Descent Freespace engine. The project is called Battlestar Galactica: Beyond The Red Line. Teaser trailers are available in WMV or DivX. There are also a more extensive Video and Photo galleries.

If the videos that they are showing are an accurate indicator of actual gameplay, this will be an incredible game. The thought of piloting a Viper online in co-op mode against a group of Cylon raiders has me all atingle.

I realize that linking to a livejournal isn’t the norm for this site, but given that most of our posters are huge fans of BSG, I thought everyone would appreciate this depiction of Battlestar Galactica folk as Simpsons characters.

A prequel to Battlestar Galactica is on the drawing board at Sci-Fi. Set fifty years before the current series, the Colonies are on the verge of a breakthrough – the first Cylon.

And the title? Caprica, of course. Are the other Colonies ever going to get a look-in?

SCI FI Channel’s original series Battlestar Galactica has been honored with the prestigious Peabody Award, which recognizes distinguished achievement in electronic media. It is the first Peabody Award for the network.

This is pretty rare for genre programs. A quick and dirty search found only Star Trek: The Next Generation and The X-Files as past winners of the award. How “The Twilight Zone” got passed over back then is beyond me.
