This weekend we’re revisiting a series I reviewed just about 2 years ago – Silent Mobius. Specifically, we’re reviewing one of the films based on the manga, which pre-dated the TV series by approximately 7 years. Continue reading →

Anime – A FAQ for Parents
I have been approached by some parents on occasion with a fairly complicated question:
“My kids are into anime and/or manga. What is it and what do I need to know so I can monitor what my kids are watching?”
The answer is complicated, and when I present it, it invariably provokes a lot of follow-up questions, so I’m going to present this as a sort of FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions. Doctor Who Anime Fan Project
I came across this little YouTube Video from AnimeNewsNetwork. The video is a fan anime short created by Paul “Otaking” Johnson from Sheffield, England. This isn’t his first Doctor Who anime video – an earlier installment made the rounds around the internet a while back, but this installment, is much improved in my opinion – depicting some Daleks taking out some heavily armed soldiers, and, using some creative audio editing, The Two… Masters (honestly, if it weren’t for the fact that actors who have played The Master keep dying, I’m surprised they haven’t done that concept before). Take a look below the cut. Continue reading →

Anime Review – Durarara!!
This week we’re going with an anime review that’s considerably more recent then some of the last few anime that have gotten a review – having wrapped up at the tail-end of June. It’s also the first anime I’ve reviewed that (on this writing) is only available to legally watch streaming, through Crunchyroll. Continue reading →
