Discusson: War for the Planet of the Apes

Opening at #1, the third movie in the new “Apes” series has received critical praise.

Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel (Woody Harrelson). After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.

WB Blinks First, Moves Batman v Superman Release Date

After Guardians of the Galaxy soundly cleaned up at the box office, Warner Brothers decided to move the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice to March 2016, rather than go head-to-head with Captain America 3 in May of 2016.

I would call that a very smart move, given how hot Marvel properties are right now. It may also signal a vote of no-confidence in the film as a whole, but it’s pretty early in the process to make that assumption.
