This book is easily the best in the series.

Weekly Comics Discussion
This week’s shipping
list has some interesting stuff. I’ll be picking
up Essential Super Villain Team Up,
Pulse #5 (which finishes the “Thin Air”
story arc), Ultimate X-Men #51 (which
continues the “Cry Wolf” story arc) and X-Men:
The End Book One #3, which marks the half way
point in this portion of the series. Material I
won’t be picking up includes the Ultimate X-Men:
Tempest trade paperback, comprised of the issues
reviewed one article back (link below), and
Warlock #1, which actually doesn’t look too
bad. (There’s a free preview of that and more at Mile
High Comics if you’d care to give them a shot.)
Comic Review – “Ultimate X-Men: The Tempest”
This is the first story arc by the Vaughan / Peterson
team, and the trade paperback ships out tomorrow. Is
it worthwhile?

“Jeremiah” in Canada
We’re finally getting “Jeremiah” in Canada. It airs
tonight on Space, at 10pm in
Toronto, which is in the time zone for which Space
advertises all of its times, so adjust to your time
zone accordingly. I’m tempted to review each episode
if I can find the time. The series is already
available on DVD; you can buy it from Amazon.com
or Amazon.ca
if you’d like.
Book Review – “Ringworld Throne”
I finally reread this. Now I can start reading the
latest sequel.

Movie Discussion – “Hero”
y42 writes, This tale of historical fiction is not exactly sci-fi, but it is wire-fu,
which I consider part of the genre at large on the basis that it takes a
scientific fact (people do extraordinary thing through martial arts
training) and pushes it beyond reality. One could make an argument that this is fantasy. It may be a weak argument, but I’m seriously considering seeing the movie this weekend, so I might as well get opinions from you excellent people before shelling out admission prices.
Weekly Comics Discussion
This week’s fare includes Avengers #501 continuing the “Avengers Disassembled” event, Exiles #52, and Ultimate Spider-Man #65. I’m still way, way behind in my reviews.
TV Review – “Babylon 5: The Movies”
The first five Babylon 5 movies have been
released in a single package. (Legend of the
Rangers wasn’t included in this package.)
