In the last few months of his life, Jordan devoted a significant amount of time to the 12th and final volume, A Memory of Light, and he left “copious notes and hours of audio recordings.”

Vernor Vinge won his third Hugo for best novel with last year’s Rainbows End. His first he received in 1993 for his neo-space opera, A Fire Upon the Deep (It actually tied with Connie Willis’s Doomsday Book). With attention once again on Vinge, we’re reviewing that novel now.
This year sees the release of two film versions of the classic mathematical fable.
The title aptly describes the show’s creators in their efforts to approach the quality of the first season.
