We still have a couple of weeks for summer reading left, and here’s one from five years ago, the last time Thomas Pynchon published a novel. Pynchon, as always, defies easy description, but Bleeding Edge is enough of a techno-thriller, with elements of the fantastic, to qualify for this site.
HBO has confirmed the new Watchmen series, with some serious talent signed on, including Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Louis Gossett Jr., and others. The long-discussed show will not be a literal adaptation of the groundbreaking graphic novel, though it will be set in its world and use material from the source.
So what will the show, due to start in 2019, be about?

No, that’s not a headline time-warped from 1986! Stewart has signed on to reprise his iconic role in a a new series. We still have no specific details about the series.
What should the new show be about? And will the Klingons get another redesign?
The planet Mars will pass closer to Earth tonight than it has been since 2003, or will be again until 2287 (though it will pass close-ish in 2020).
Meanwhile, on Earth, Actor Topher Grace has edited The Hobbit into the two-hour film it probably should have been, to much online applause.

Okay, it has some serious limitations and the price tag is a tad hefty, but Richard Browning’s outfit is the closest we’ve come to a real life Iron Man suit, and you can have one, if you can spare the cash.
True, the suit is not a brand new item (you may have read about the prototype last year) but its more impressive flight-capacity and hypothetical availability appear to be.
