The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies are
slated for a DVD release on September 3, according to
this
Cinescape article. I loved the first movie as a
child, and I put up with the second one for Paige
Turco. I’ve never seen the third, but I’ve got the
soundtrack. (It’s actually not bad.)

“Ender’s Game” Gets a Director
According to an article on Sci-Fi Wire, Wolfgang Peterson had been signed to direct the film, which will combine “Ender’s Game” and “Ender’s Shadow.”
Peterson has also helmed: Das Boot, The Neverending Story (one of my childhood favorites), Enemy Mine (One of my picks for best Sci-Fi), In the Line of Fire, Air Force One, and The Perfect Storm.
Spider-Man and Episode 2 DVD release dates?
IGN’s DVD section is reporting DVD release dates for Spider-Man (Nov. 5) and Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones (Nov. 26), among others such as the Back To The Future trilogy. The “Coming Soon” list on Amazon.com neither confirms nor contradicts this information.
Wired’s Top 20 Sci-Fi Movies
Wired, treading on what is clearly Bureau42’s territory, has released their picks for the top 20 Sci-Fi films of all time.
I personally didn’t like Blade Runner enough to rank it as number one, but it is their magazine. I would, however, like the name of the crack-smoking gibbon that placed Barbarella on the list!

Spider-Man makes a record or two
This is unbelievable. Those of you who read Slashdot might
have seen that Spider-Man did well at
the box office, as reported here.
If you didn’t click on the article you might not
know how well. It grossed an estimated $114
million in the first three days. To put that in
perspective, the previous record for a three day
opening was Harry Potter, with $90.2.
The second highest grossing film in the box
office this weekend was The Scorpion
King with $9.6 million. I’ve seen gaps
between first and second place before, but the
first place film took in almost twelve times what
the second place film took in. I’m very
interested in seeing what the numbers for the
Attack of the Clones opening weekend
will be like.
Movie Review – “Spider-Man”
Last night, I went to the movies expecting to see
a flick based on Spider-Man. Instead, I was
treated to a movie starring Spider-Man. You know
how to read more. I should warn you that there
are some mild and ambiguous spoilers below.
