The news is
out. Star Wars: Episodes 4, 5, and 6 will be released
on DVD in September 2004. Rumour has it that Lucas
has been modifying the Special Edition trilogy even further,
but there’s no confirmation about which edition this will be.

Star Wars: Galaxies Ships Today
The MMORPG from Sony and LucasArts is finally available. It’s getting decent press and the design team has some respected work in their resume. Some little game they call EverQuest or somesuch. Read more about the game from the Official Site.
Chewbacca to Return for Episode III
StarWars.com has a few more details, but not many. He will be played by Peter Mayhew, who brought life to the gentle giant in the original trilogy.
Jones Back in Episode III
Because he is Darth Vader, James Earl Jones will be reprising his role as the voice of the dark lord of the Sith.
Something to look forward to, even if it’s only the last five minutes of the film.
Deleted Scenes added to Clones DVD
Starwars.com has a brief bit about the eight deleted scenes restored for the upcoming Episode II DVD. From the looks of it, a lot of the material will be focused on Padme’s family and the Jedi Order.
Episode II on the REALLY Big Screen
I have it straight from the horse’s mouth (StarWars.com). Episode II will be shown on IMAX theaters around the US and Canada starting November 1st. The news release has some interesting info about the transfer process, but no mention of what theaters will be getting the film.
My guess is if your town got either Fantasia 2000 or the rerelease of Beauty and the Beast, you’ve got a good shot on getting Episode II as well.
Attack Of The Clones DVD Date Set
The potential November 26 date we reported on
earlier is out, and a November 12 release date is in,
according to this
Cinescape article. There’s no list of extras,
but it’ll be a two DVD set.
Episode II: What do *you* think?
Alternately trashed and praised in the media (both mainstream and geek), Star Wars: Episode II seems to be an odd mix of good and bad. Even Jon Katz got in on the action.
We all know that most movie critics shouldn’t be trusted any further than they can be Yoda-style drop-kicked, so here’s the question: How did you feel about the movie? Happy? Sad? Blissfully abivilent? Are we reading too much into these films?
Special-Special Edition Confirmed
Following up on a previous post, Rick McCallum, Lucas’s right-hand man, has confirmed the original trilogy on DVD. It will be three years away (jives with Lucas’s early announcement) and it will contain even more changes.
My favorite quote from the piece: "With George… he’ll keep on changing the film till the day he dies."
Attack of the Clones script online
There is something that claims to be a script for
Attack of the Clones online. It can be
found by following links from Drew’s
Script-O-Rama, Simply
Scripts, or other places. I’m not going to
read it, but if you really want spoilers, you can
read the script, the graphic novel, or the
hardcover novel, all of which are easily
available.
