Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 2021 November 7

A number of our shows Dwindled Closed last week, leaving a shorter table this week.  Supergirl is ending her season and her series, as well.  She has two episodes, taking care of their fifth dimensional imp and Lex (no relation), as well as marrying off two of their characters.  The Legends make it to New York and meet some mad scientists.  Batwoman gets Pyggy with it.  The Doctor revisits a war with their deadly spud enemies.  The Blacklist takes down a golden age comic book hero.  Foundation faces their null field while the emperor takes a dare.  We don’t get any details, but Star Trek: Prodigy continues this week, as does Doom Patrol and Young Justice.

A Joyous Samhain and Happy Halloween 🎃 to all our Bureaucrats!  As a long awaited capper to our spooky Season, The Doctor returns for the opening to a new season, Flux, which caps off Jodie and Chris’ tenure on the show.  If you’re a fan of endings, Chapelwaite caps the first season, and faces Jakub’s army.    Y: The Last Man has the last episode of the first season as Marrisville faces an army from Amazon.  The Good Doctor faces racism.  In a Distinct Corner,  Star Girl ends with a JSA Eclipso showdown.  Supergirl faces a town in New Mexico.  The Legends faces the mob while trying to enjoy a drink.  Batwoman realizes they’ve been keeping things too cool.  Star Trek: Prodigy (which I missed alerting everyone to last week) has its second episode, amazing the former captives with the stars.  The Blacklist starts into a new case now that the band is back together.  Foundation lets the Emperor start out on a new journey.

Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 2021 October 10

Don’t Care for the long summer gap between seasons?  The pandemic has brought you something good, as Legends and Batwoman’s next seasons are already here, both picking up right where the previous seasons left off.  Still in the Arrowverse (is it still the Arrowverse?) Supergirl goes after Nyxly, and Stargirl recovers from Pat’s dark secrets.  Elsewhere in that multiverse, the Titans and Doom Patrol give us new episodes, (but no descriptions.)  Evil gives you something to chew on to end the season.  Chapelwaite sees a vampire future.  Y: The Last Man visits a tourist trap.  The Good Doctor doesn’t care for the changes at the hospital.  Foundation tells us why Gaal has a conflict.  American Horror Story and See also give us new episodes, and if you happen to catch the first season of Katee Sackhoff’s Sci-Fi Another Life, season 2 drops this week.  [If you didn’t, I’ll warn you it’s less science, more drama.]

Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 2021 June 27

We have only six entries in the table today, which is larger than our normal summer postings.  Despite Cutting down a bit, The Legends with their visit the the old west and The Flash and his army of Godspeeds (the white suited Flash) wave goodbye to Batwoman for her “upending” season finale.  Evil (the show) sends us an angel.  Loki and the Bad Batch round out our list, but as usually expect us to watch without any synopses.

Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 2021 June 20

Happy Father’s Day to all applicable Bureaucrats, as we start our television week with the return of Evil.  (Not the concept, the show.)  I am all of keeping some mystery is the episodes, but the complete lack of description makes it difficult for those of us compiling a television table.  You can be deceptively condensed, even a single sentence works, as Superman and Lois’s title is longer than its vague tease about Morgan Edge.  Father’s day must have everyone feeling nostalgic, as the Legends attempt to erase the season, Batwoman attempts to return to last season’s star, and The Flash returns to past villains.  Also, The Blacklist gives us another episode after I thought the season had wrapped.

Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 2021 June 13

It’s a week for Deceptive Covers, as The Legends tease an episode about chess with the title, but the episode description seems pretty run of the mill.  Batwoman teases a regeneration, but only battles classic villains.  Flash teases a lot of secrets, but instead unmasks everyone.  Superman and Lois suggests missing mothers, but they’re all there and arguing with their kids.  Blacklist gives us a season finale, and suggests to reveal everything about the stars.  Loki, Handmaid, Bad Batch, and My Hero Academia all have new episodes, but doesn’t give us any descriptions.

Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 2021 June 7

If you didn’t get enough comics on your breakroom television, I have good news for you! Not only Did CW come back, bringing us a Constantine episode, Batwoman focuses on Luke Fox’s story, The Flash bids farewell to a series regular from the beginning, and Superman and Lois figure out why their show’s big bad is in Smallville in the first place, but Marvel gives us a time-hopping, What If…? styled story centered around the villain that was so popular he gets to resurrect a few times and become a hero, Loki!  In other stores, we get The Good Doctor’s season finale in Guatemala, the Handmaid’s penultimate episode, and some cartoons.

Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 2021 May 16

As it would be a Direct Contradiction to their timeline, Supergirl is off the table this week so that Superman & Lois can step in to delve into their family drama.  The Legends also bring the drama as they join a reality-TV singing show.  Batwoman fights those suffering from drug addiction.  Black Lightning exposes his weakness.  The Flash leaves us on a cliffhanger that seems to imply cast changes for next season.

If DC isn’t your kinda thing (and judging from the references on DC’s shows, it’s not their thing, either) Marvel does have a release this week, with Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K.  This is the show about the giant head in a chair, maybe in the style of (and by the folks who made) Robot Chicken.  There’s a lot of names associated with it, but I think it’s a toss up whether this will be a hit or just another on AIM’s blunders.

In more adult fare, The Nevers gibes us their season finale, revealing True’s back story.  The Good Doctor has Claire meeting her idol.  The Handmaid takes a vow.  The Blacklist might actually reveal some background info, unless the FBI can stop an assassin coming for Liz.

[Edited to add] The Underground Railroad and The Bad Batch have been added.  Be sure to comment when I miss a show, I won’t know something is out unless it’s already in my radar.
