Bureau’s Breakroom’s Television Table – Week beginning 20 October 2019

I hope you didn’t have any other plans, as there is plenty of television to keep those of us unpopular enough not to have Halloween party invites busy. If the Dire Crisis of Batwoman, Supergirl, Arrow, Flash, and maybe Black Lightning and the Titans coupled with the horror of 1984, Riverdale, the return of Castle Rock and watching The Good Doctor try to get to second base is took much, Will and Grace also will return to lighten the mood.  Personally, The Blacklist cheers me up pretty well, too.

Comic Television Discussion – Week beginning 17 March 2019

The season two return of American Gods was so distracting, last week’s post was completely missed.  (Feel free to talk about last week’s episodes here, as well.)  American Gods lets us see the trains we all know are circling the country and performing illicit acts of espionage.  Supergirl had already given us a new Superman for her universe, now we get to meet their `Lex, err… Lex.  Arrow goes into the future and stays there for the issue.  Black Lightning adds more metas, probably.  The Flash takes a trip out to the suburbs.  Outside of DC, Riverdale gets musical.

Comic Television Discussion – Week beginning 10 February 2019

Lots missing items in our Comic Television Discussion, but we do have three DC shows this week, with Arrow, Flash and Black Lightning all dealing with their children.  Is this evidence that the super heroes on television are being targeted at the geeky kids of decades gone but now-grown-up and dealing with their children?  The Gifted also returns, as Reeva goes on a rampage and we get a Morlocks and Purifiers rumble.

Comic Television Discussion – Week beginning 27 January 2019

This week, Supergirl makes a big deal to introduce the world’s first transgender superhero on television, Arrow keeps recreating Suicide Squad, Flash’s daughter’s secrets get revealed, Black Lightning doesn’t give us a synopsis, and The Gifted takes the week off.  Riverdale continues to feel purely like a soap opera.  What are you watching, anything keeping your interest?

Comic Television Discussion – Week beginning 21 January 2019

January is screeching past us as the third week of the year is already over.  As we stride into the end of the month, the comics start seriously returning to television.  Supergirl fights to keep the name Carol Danvers from being popular, The Flash gets angry, Arrow tries to chill out, and the Legends and Black Lightning are without a synopsis.  The Gifted gets sleepy.  Riverdale prepares for their college prep tests, because those kids are actually high-schoolers, surprise!  The Punisher has released Season 2 for Netflix, and as of this posting has not been cancelled yet.  While not technically a comic, out in space the Discovery and the Orville also share a nigh of television which really highlights the differences between the two shows.

Comic Television Discussion – Week beginning 13 January 2019

Oh, there you are!  The midwinter break has come to a close and we are seeing the regular comic television return.  The Gifted weathered the winter weather better than others, even if the Bureau42 reviews did not.  That Reviewer really needs to stop messing with time lines and just post the reviews already.  The Flash has raced back to us first, with what is sure to be some sound uses of physics and technology.  Arrow thought he was out, but is pulled back in.  The Gifted has the Mutant Underground reorganize, and the Riverdale teens deal with Veronica’s father’s takeover.

Also, Netflix is giving us Season 2 of The Punisher before the inevitable annunciation of its cancellation, and in case you wanted something non-comic related, there’s a new Star Trek: Discovery.  Though if you wanted something non-comic related, you probably are in the wrong thread.

Comic Television Discussion – Week beginning 16th December 2018

The dark of the year has hit the shows, while only the darkest (Titans) is still working this year.  In case you missed it last week, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina revives the tradition of yuletide ghost stories for the longest night of the year, but otherwise we get a nice long festive break.

Comic Television Discussion – Week beginning 9nd December 2018

The big Elseworlds crossover event happens, but apparently is happening without the Legends this year as it’s just The Flash, then Arrow, then Supergirl, and some other DC big names.  Meanwhile, Legends try to keep secrets, and Black Lightning get into the holiday spirit.  Titans gets back to our core cast and examine some aliens.  Marvel takes the rest of the year off, but Archie does double duty as the Gryphons & Gargoyles affects more people.  Also, Sabrina returns for a holiday special, since 🎼🎵It’s beginning to look a lot like Sol-stice🎶!

[All synopses (and titles) from Trakt.tv below the cut, except where they sucked, and I used IMDB(If a show’s synopsis is a spoiler to you, do not click More…  Extra warning: some of them seem a bit revealing this time.)]
