It was just announced (Variety) that J.K. Rowling will make her screenwriting debut scripting the first in a series of movies based on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, a fictitious book which is a non-fiction textbook at Hogwarts in the world of Harry Potter. No release dates have been announced yet.
Pottermore.com is the newest project from the uber-queen of the literary world. Billed as an interactive version of the original story where “you” get play a part.
It’s a little light on details and it won’t open until October, but Rowling went on YouTube early this morning to give us some information.
Also of note: The site will be exclusive place to buy the eBook version of the series. I hope they make them compatible with Kindles and Nooks.
For more on the project, check out the video from the author herself.
It all comes down to this and it looks awesome.
And July 15th is my anniversary. Thank you WB for making this an easy present!
Our first look at just the first half of the last book. (Wow, that’s an ugly sentence).
Some of the scenes we saw in the first trailer, but it does have scads of new stuff to see. Based on what’s here, I have a pretty good idea of where the films break the book.
We get our first look at the final two films in the series. Have to say…looks damn good. As a bonus, I’ve also got Predators which I seem to have missed when it first rolled out.
Just one this week. Only one.
Sure, November is a ways off, but the thought alone keeps me warm at night.
