Wolfenstein Bits
A pair of newsbriefs regarding the shooter Return to Castle Wolfenstein:
First off, the game will be ported to the Xbox as part of Microsoft’s Xbox Live community. Release is set for November 15th.
Additionally, Variety (by way of SciFi.com) is reporting that Columbia Pictures will be making a big screen movie version of the best-selling shooter.
Pam Anderson is ….. Stripperella!!
Daemonik writes, Seems that Pamela Anderson will not be totally unheard while she recovers from her hepatitis infection, she will be voicing the character Stripperella, a crime fighting stripper created by Stan Lee for TNN’s new adult cartoon lineup next April.
Stripperella (aka Erotica Jones) has powers that include lie-detector breasts, a hair-a-chute (finally, a good use for big hair), and a tongue scanner. Really.

Space Elevator Concept Moving Forward
Those nice guys at Space.com have the full story. Private firms are looking into the feasibility of building the mammoth "vertical railroad." It seems the major holdup (superstrong carbon fibers) is only a few years away from being perfected.
If it works, transport missions into orbit would become extremely inexpensive and a lot more commonplace.
"The Illiad" Coming to the Big Screen
Warner Bros. Pictures and Village Roadshow Pictures have signed Wolfgang Petersen (Superman vs. Batman, Air Force One, Das Boot) to direct and produce the epic tale on film. It is being titled “Troy.”
No word on when filming will start or who will be in it. It goes without saying that, if this is a hit, a big screen adaptation of the sequel, “The Odyssey” won’t be far behind.
Buffy Muscial coming to CD
Sci-Fi Wire has the full scoop. Basically it will contain all the songs from the show “Once More, With Feeling” and some unreleased material. It will be available September 24th.
I just checked Amazon.com. Nothing there yet.
Bablyon 5 Seasons 2 and 3 on DVD
According to this Usenet post archived on JMSnews.com, the second and third seasons of Babylon 5 have been tentatively scheduled for next April and November respectively. Remember, the first season is due November 5.
Wil Wheaton cut from Nemesis
Yeah, it’s been reported everywhere else, but we’d be remiss if we didn’t put our two cents in. Wil’s own web site has his heartfelt feelings on the matter.
Looks like it was nothing personal, just that the movie clocked in at three hours long. Anyone else smell a special edition DVD release?
The Return of The Bionic Woman
Bolstered by their recent successes, USA Network will be remaking The Bionic Woman. No word yet on who will be in it, or how it fits in with the original storyline.
He Man’s Back.
Alexius writes, Cartoon Network Is Bringing Heman Back. I Saw An Ad For A Movie Airing This Friday At 18:00. The Only Details I Can Find Are Here. I’ve found more information at He-Man.org. The Diamond Comic Previews page also says that Image will be starting a He-Man comic this fall.
