The PVR is still glitchy in a manner that suggests a dead hard drive. I’ve got one more convenient broadcast to try tomorrow night, but I can’t guarantee I’ll have a chance to review it if it does work, so this is going up instead.

Final Crisis Review – “Final Crisis: Rogues’ Revenge”
Due to a glitch in my PVR, the “Smallville” review will have to be postponed until I catch a later broadcast, possibly Saturday’s. In the meantime, here’s a Final Crisis review.

Supernatural Discussion – “Monster Movie”
Tonight’s episode appears to be a black and white episode, written by Ben Edlund, which is about a shapeshifter who loves the 1930s horror movies. Man, I’ve got to get caught up on this show; how can this not be an incredibly fun episode?
Galactica returning January 16, 2009
Newsarama reports that BSG’s final episodes will begin airing on Sci-Fi beginning on Friday, January 16, 2009. There will be Web-based mini-episodes leading up to it, and ten days prior (January 6, 2009) we’ll finally get the first half of the season on DVD.
January will also bring us new BSG comics, focusing on the first war between Human and Cylon.
Witchblade (Anime) Pilot on iTunes for Free.
Anime News Network and Sci-Fi Wire are reporting that
Funimation has announced that the first episode of the
Anime spinoff of Top Cow’s moderately successful comic
series “Witchblade” is being made available on iTunes
for free. iTunes has been distributing anime for over
a year now, though it’s been distributed dubbed rather
then subtitled, so those who prefer to watch anime
with the original Japanese voice acting will probably
want to stick with the DVDs.
The first episode itself is okay, but it does have
it’s weaknesses – but the show does pick up some
afterwards. I’ve been meaning to sit down and watch
the whole show for a review, now that it’s been
licensed. If you’re interested in reading a review of
the show, let me know.
Secret Invasion Review – “Guardians of the Galaxy #4-6”
This gets this event’s reviews caught up once more. Tonight we’ll have a review of the latest “Smallville,” and tomorrow will see a review of “Final Crisis: Rogues’ Revenge” to get that event’s reviews caught up again.

Secret Invasion Review – “Ms. Marvel #28-30”
With this review, our coverage of “Secret Invasion” is officially up to date, and it should stay that way, at least until “Guardians of the Galaxy” hits shelves tomorrow.

Fringe Review: Power Hungry
This week’s Fringe episode features an electrifying premise, but its mad science is for the birds.
Movie Discussion: City of Ember
This family-oriented apocalyptic flick has been playing to decidedly mixed reviews. It stars Bill Murray and, apparently, it looks great.
Has anyone seen this?
Terrance Howard out, Don Cheadle in Iron Man 2
Slashfilm has an article about the change in who will play Jim Rhodes (and potentially, War Machine). It seems to come down to money. I’ll reserve judgment as Howard was kinda dull in the first movie and Cheadle has some serious acting chops.
