Forbes covers Star Flops
Forbes.com has just
published this
article, detailing some entries in the Star
Wars universe that are significantly worse than
any of the prequels. It’s worth a look as we while
away the last week before episode 3.
Firefly/Serentiy comic available for pre-order
valen1260
writes, The first two issues of the three-part
Serenity comic from Dark Horse are available for
pre-order. The story bridges the series and movie.
There are three covers of each issue (visible here),
each featuring a different character. At $3 a piece,
the total series looks to want about $27 of my
paycheck.
Berman Backstabs Coto
shayward writes, A TGL report here has excerpts of an interview with Rick Berman. He says that some of the more verbal fans believe “that when we took Manny Coto and we promoted him from co – executive producer to executive producer that he just suddenly took over and it became The Manny Coto Show.” He goes on to say, “That’s just nonsense.” He also indicates that he and Braga were just as involved with scripts and stories as they were previous to Season 4.
Backstab may be a bit strong a word, but this article makes it painfully clear this man hasn’t the foggiest clue what’s going within his own series and why fans are turning away from Trek and villifying him. To quote: “It’s going away because it has endured for so long. It’s paradoxical.” Yeah Rick, kind of like your writing.
Lego Star Wars – Revenge of the Brick
chad writes, The Lego Star Wars movie that was shown on the Cartoon Network last Sunday is now available online. View it here (or download directly from here [about 12MB]). It\’s got some funny parts, and I especially like how Obi-Wan and Anakin use the force to reconfigure their starfighters from scattered parts.
CoMers Episode 7: Guests
tgreco writes, CoMers Episode 7: Guests is finally live.
Apologies to all the folks who have patiently been waiting.
Episode 8 is nearly finished as well, and we’re hoping will go live in 2-3 weeks.
Thanks again to all the folks at bureau42 for all their support!
Weekly Comics Discussion – Wednesday, May 11, 2005
There are a couple of gems coming out this week,
including Star Wars: Empire Vol. 4 from Dark
Horse, Green Arrow #50 from DC, and
Astonishing X-Men #10, Ultimate
Spider-Man #77, X-Men: The End Book Two:
Heroes and Martyrs #3, and a reprint of
Essential Fantastic Four Vol. 1 from Marvel.
I’ll be taking home the final issue of Green
Lantern: Rebirth (which I’ve been very impressed
by so far), and Fantastic Four #526, the last
fill in before J. Michael Straczynski takes over.
Great Lakes Avengers #1
The comic title of the nanosecond, Great Lakes Avengers spotlights the adventures of Mystery Men-style second banana heroes in the Marvel Universe. The first issue receives its own review here, though the rest of the four-issue mini-series will be reviewed collectively, once all have been released.
Goblet of Fire Teaser Online
Doesn’t show much, but it does whet your appetite for November. Something to look forward to after Serenity.
Doctor Who: The Long Game
The TARDIS arrives in the year 200,000 on a space station responsible for
gathering and distributing all the news in the fourth great and bountiful
human empire. But is it transmitting the truth?
