Harry Potter 8?

In an online interview, J.K. Rowling

allegedly kinda sorta hinted
that maybe there might be an eighth Harry Potter book, after maintaining for years that she would stop at seven.

How much weight should be placed on incredibly vague quotes like this one, that are probably being taken out of context anyway? And how many more years do we have to wait before we see the sixth and seventh books? (I’d start a betting pool, but there’s a good chance many of us will die of old age before there’s a winner.)

Historical Strangeness

Due to unforseen technical difficulties, some comments have been resurrected from beyond the grave.

I typoed a database update, and a couple hundred comments from about three years ago were updated so that the database thinks those comments were made today.

Shouldn’t hurt anything, but it might look weird (especially if you look at the stats page and see a bunch of comments made on articles from three years ago.

We apologize for the inconvenience.

Review: The Matrix Revolutions

No one can be told how odd Revolutions is… you have to see it for yourself.

New Hitchhiker’s Radio Series!

Hey, we’ve got “42” in the name of our site. I can’t pass this one up.

According to the BBC, the third Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy novel, “Life, the Universe, and Everything,” will be adapted in spring 2004, with the fourth and fifth books being combined into one series for later in the year. This appears to be straight adaptations of the books, rather than a logical sequel to the original radio plays, but I don’t really care. New Hitchhiker’s Radio! Time to move to London so I can hear them!

Simpsons, Samurai Jack win Emmys

… and you thought the Emmys weren’t until next month. Well, most of them aren’t, but the “juried” Emmy awards (mostly technical stuff) have already been announced. Hank Azaria won his third Emmy for his work on The Simpsons, and the folks from Cartoon Network’s “Samurai Jack” won an award that I don’t even really know what it’s for. Details at CNN.
