Trek Today, source of all great rumors, is reporting the wholly unconfirmed rumor that Scott Bakula is “in negotiations” for the role of the ship’s captain in the next Trek series (y’know, the one that Paramount still won’t even publicly acknowledge is being planned). Tongue planted firmly in cheek, IGN explores the possibilities, from Bruce Campbell to Lucy Lawless. So, assuming there will be a fifth series, who would you like to see as the newest captain?

Review: Starship Troopers Roughnecks DVD
Whoa, that’s a long title, and it’s still not even complete…
This article is a review of “The Pluto Campaign,” which is the first five episodes of the computer-animated series "Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles" strung together to make something that’s almost a movie.
Interview: JMS On Spidey
More spoilers, but these are probably legit, since they
come straight from the source. This interview
with J. Michael Straczynski (the Babylon 5 guy with the
hard-to-spell name) details some of his plans for the
next year, as he takes over writing duties for Marvel’s
“Amazing Spider-Man” book.
More Voyager Finale Rumors
Take ’em with a whole eight-pound-bag of salt, folks,
but Trek Today has some alleged mini-spoilers
on the final episode of Star Trek: Voyager. Now if only
they didn’t look like they were stealing ideas from the
finale of TNG, or for that matter Babylon 5…
Borg Assimilator
It’s kinda like The Sims, but it’s not at all like The Sims. Coming this winter to your PC… Star Trek: Borg Assimilator, a world-building sim where you control the Borg Collective in their attempts to conquer all things good and beautiful. Resisting the press release is futile.
Nostalgia: Masters Of The Universe Toys
Remember “He-Man And The Masters Of The Universe?” The marginal cartoon series and absolutely wretched movie with Dolph Lundgren? Well, in what’s most likely an attempt to cash in on 80s nostalgia, Mattel has re-released the toys. Not “updated,” mind you, but re-released darn near perfect replicas of the originals. Snapshots and reviews over here.
Minor Apologies Are In Order
I’m not at all certain what happened, but there was some corruption in the database that fiziko, He Who Sleeps Even Less Than I, spotted this morning. Approximately seven comments were lost in the process. Sorry, folks.
Babylon 5 DVDs Delayed
JMS posted recently that the DVD releases of “In The Beginning” and “The Gathering” will be delayed by a month from previous schedules (I think this pushes ’em back to August). Read on for his very sound reasoning.

Star Trek I DVD: More Eye Candy
There’s nothing truly new here, friends. We’ve already reported that when Star Trek: The Motion Picture is finally released on DVD (sometime this year, but nobody is willing to be more specific), it’ll be prettier than before, having received a Star Wars-style makeover. Here, then, are six more screenshots showing off their new handiwork.
Harry Potter Teaser Trailer
The inevitable teaser for “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” is online for your viewing pleasure, if you can get in — the site seems more than a little lagged. In other news, series author J.K. Rowling was awarded the Order of the British Empire by Prince Charles. Hey, if it gets kids to pick up a book instead of a Gameboy, I’m all for it.
